From a young age, my parents instilled in me the transformative power of education with the simple yet profound statement, "Education is the most valuable asset, an immense force that no one can ever strip away." As a first-generation student, this belief became the cornerstone of my academic journey. So, it deeply saddened me to see over 20 classmates in our small class of 90 not graduating. I realized that not everyone has the privilege of an upbringing centered around education. My educational journey began with challenges in elementary school, particularly in reading and writing, where I fell behind my peers. The unwavering support from my mother was instrumental in my growth. After long workdays, she would dedicate time to help me improve my reading and writing. I vividly recall her teaching me the fundamentals - vocabulary and vowel sounds - even though I initially resented the process. In hindsight, I now appreciate her determination and dedication. Thanks to her guidance, I exceeded expectations, reading at a level two years ahead of my peers and earning praise for my articulate speech. These experiences have kindled an unrelenting passion to become an educator and teach students about the transformative power of education. I aspire to share this perspective and inspire others to embrace education.

High school made me aware of the barriers that hinder many from reaching their educational goals. I started tutoring peers who lacked home support and resources. One of my proudest moments was helping students raise their grades to an A through dedicated after-school sessions. However, I aspired to reach a broader audience and address the decline in college enrollment, primarily due to financial challenges and guidance in college applications. This desire led me to establish a mentorship club focused on college and scholarship assistance. I mentored students about the CSS profile and FASFA. Witnessing the positive impact on my high school community was fulfilling. I encouraged many students to find the ideal college to pursue their passion. Although I've graduated, my legacy lives on as other students continue the mentorship club to empower their peers to pursue education.

Education is a profound privilege and commitment that shapes the next generation. In my earliest years of learning, exceptional individuals, including my mother, ignited my curiosity and enduring passion for knowledge. I am pursuing a degree in business because I believe a financial background will equip me with the analytical and problem-solving skills to advocate for improved education policies. I envision using my business skills to create and manage educational programs or initiatives that address the barriers to education. I will advocate for establishing scholarship programs and mentorship initiatives that address the affordability and accessibility of education, particularly for underserved communities. I aspire to cultivate a classroom where I can empower students from diverse backgrounds to pursue their passions and build successful futures. In this endeavor, I am more than just a teacher; I am a guide, mentor, and advocate for each student's unique potential.
